All,

Here are some updates you need to know.

Shortly we will be emailing all registrants with in processing information. rules and regulations and historical back ground information.

In the meantime, Confederate Registration is almost Full. If you are an invited CS participant, and have not registered I HIGHLY encourage you to do so TODAY.

Right now we are at 1,200 CS participants, with only a few more slots to go.

Fedral Registration is also over 1,000 right now, and I also HIGHLY encourage you to register Federal ASAP so as not to miss the updates, and also to allow us to properly gauge logistics.

The Cornfield has been planted, this weekend we will be having a work day to tear out the modern fencing, and then over the next 2 months we will be installing over 600 yards of period fencing.

We always appreciate volunteers, so that we do not have to pay for help, and thus more monies go to CMHF and BHF.

Sir, Just signed up today. I am not sure I can make it due to my wife being in hospice. I did not sign up for Lee takes command for the same reason. Presently I am without a unit. I signed as a Confederate, but I can put on the blue if needed. Looking for a group that enjoys campaign camp life. Every thing I will be bringing will be on my back. I eat out of my haversack as men of that day would. Enjoy song and playing cards too.

Will there be a list of those registered online similar to McDowell? Or a list of invited units so those that are invited know they can register in case they haven't heard?

Thank God for the volunteers we have.

The Modern fencing is removed in areas so as to historically feed troops into the respective battles....we had folks from the SD and the NR as well as event staff show up and bust their butts for 6 hours to set the stage for you all to perform on.

Without such volunteers we would not be able to put on events such as Maryland, my Maryland, giving as much as possible to preservation and charities.

Our next work day will be starting to build the Sharpsburg Pike- we have over 500 yards of rail fence to build, and I will let you all know when that work begins.

Also Doug Dobbs is pitching in and will be organizing additional work days.

We are almost there folks!

So don't forget to register, and if at all possible, show up, pitch in and take ownership of YOUR hobby.

11th Pa Reserves Pimpin' Hypin' Raisin' Maryland My Maryland, Sept 7-9 2012, Potomac Legion Adjunct

I done went and volunteered to run Company G, 11th Pa Reserves. "G" for gimp, "G" for Grumpy. Fitting, right?

So, if you'd like to attend the event, sign up for my company. We'll act stupid, burp, fart and make wise cracks, all the while trying hard not to ruin someone’s moment or movement. I promise not to have you stand at shoulder arms until your hand falls off, or line you up facing the sun. We're all adults so, I won't be telling you to drink water every 15 minutes. If you know someone new who'd like to try this campaigner thing out for the first time, I promise not to make him or her look like a fool, send them my way.

No, you don’t' have to cross the big scary mountains if you don't want to and you don't have to cross that big muddy river if you don't feel like it either and, I won't berate you for not coming East for events. But, having been part of the PL event communication for the 11th Reserves for a while and knowing Billy Birney the TV star is busting his hump to pull this thing off, added to the fact, the 11th Reserves (who we'll be portraying) will actually be doing a thing or two I've never seen done, this should be fun. Kids, historical record shows some civilian took a whole company to his house and made them pancakes for breakfast. So, here's how it goes if you'd like to register.

First, you go here and register:

It's nice, they do paypal.
This tells Mr. Anders and his folks, you’re coming and falling in with the 11th Reserves.

Then you go here:

You can either do everything on line, and pay by paypal or print out a copy and do snail mail.
This part of registration is for two different things. First, for your rations. 2nd, so you can pick what company you want to be in. Pick "G."

Uniform standards are here.
As of now, we’re looking at 60 rounds, properly packed, historically speaking. To start with.

So, sign up, we'll try to do things right and have some fun while we're at it.
