Default Hopefully someone will get a kick out of this.

So, i've been out of the hobby for about 3 years. Long story short, i am coming back. I sold all my stuff in 2010. I thought i only had my brogans, and canteen laying in the closet. I posted a couple WTB Threads, and have started purchasing and rebuilding my kit again.

Well, quite recently, i've moved from Michigan to Georgia. All my stuff was in a storage unit, and still is until i find a better place to put it. Since i'm going to two events this month, Resaca on the 18th and Ft.Blakeley over memorial day, i wanted to grab those two items. Come to find out, i found Of course my Federal brogans, Canteen, a pair of Chris Daley drawers, hand knitted socks, all my leathers, a hand sewn civilian shirt, and a pair of hand sewn SA Infantry trousers(Unfinished, but actually finished them tonight). Guess i didn't sell everything!

I just wanted to share this with you, only because i am overjoyed with excitement. Talk about saving some money!

    Thanks for reading!

My most consistent piece of advice to reenactors over the years has been: Never sell all your gear. Keep 1 full impression.
If you're selling because you need money, you'll never be able to get enough out of a used kit to make it worth the while. Then, when you want to get back in, you won't have the money in one place to take the hit of buying the whole thing again. I've moved a number of times, sold and given away stuff and taken a year off here and there along the way, but I've always kept enough gear that I could show up as a private on any given weekend. Welcome back.

Kinda like finding a $20 bill in those pants you haven't worn in a while. A portend of a good day.

I sold all my stuff and am now getting back in after 25 years (for LH only, not battle reenactments). I thought it was all gone but I recently found, on the floor in a closet, under a painter's tarp.... my old gum blanket. Now why did I keep that? Just forgot it I suppose. I can't use it though. It was fine back in the day, but by today's standards is pretty farbish.
