Two pleated front civilian shirts, completely handsewn, sized 44-46 and 48-50, $120 each, shipping included. These are vastly under-represented today as examples of civilian dress shirts. If you're an officer or want to look like a dandy, this is the shirt -just add starch and press. These are constructed from a square cut pattern from a wonderful medium weight brown stripe on white cotton, with a soft nap in the interior and white linen cuffs, collar, and pleated front. They have fully felled seams, are completely handsewn with the exception of machine sewn pleats in the interior - all visable stitches are by hand in my usual tight fashion. The smaller shirt has antique plain white china buttons and the larger has antique white piecrust glass buttons. The most unique feature on these is the tab attached to the base of the pleats to attach to the trouser button to help keep in tucked in and pressed to the body front. This was a common shirt of the period but an uncommon one in today's living history/reenacting community. The reason for this is that they are time-consuming to make. You will stand out in a very positive way and you will reason a ton of compliments while wearing one of these. I have been making shirts again with some frequency, but I rarely make these anymore because of the work involved. If you're contemplating one of these, get it now. Not trying to do the hard sell, just being honest that I don't make many of these.
