    Default cs trouser fitting...

I habe almost finished a pair of cs trousers but they are way too large. I think they will be a few inches too large after i put the buttons and back belt on. So i either have to sell them or alter them. I know i can change the center seam a little but besides taking them apart is there anything else i can do? Are there any period ways to correct this?

Hey man, let me preface this with saying im not trying to be smart-alec. Have you though about using a belt? Most of my cw pants are a little large and if i used suspenders i would be swimming in them but, a civilian belt works well because it cenches down all around. anyways, not an aswer to your exact question but one possible solution anyway.

    Default belt

Well a belt would work...except they are 3-4" too big...I think, however, that if i keep them I will resew the center seam to make them a little smaller...may have to re-do the back wait band a little...and then use a belt. I am also going to start making a cheap material version to i can work out the bugs before i make the final version...

Take material out of the back panels by splitting the outside leg seams, from the waist down, and then lay them flat facing up. You'll see how much excess material you have. Most patterns have way more material in the back than the front.

No need to mess with the center seam unless the waist is too big too, then you can do it there, and shorten the waist band too.
