Cream of Wheat, oatmeal, grits, dead skin, etc., is well and fine, but the best our unit has found is a heavy wax/grease labeled 'Old Zip gun grease' sold by the local sutlery. Some cans, however seem to have been made with a heavy hand on the wax portion, and is too hard to work. A few guys have made a mixture of beeswax and bore butter that works just fine.
Fill the chambers with powder, tamp down, then top each chamber off with a smear of the wax/grease combo. Be sure to NOT pick up a fleck of powder in the grease (you'll be able to see it), or else you'll chain fire.
