It is a common practice among quality reproducers to stamp shelter halves based on originals , and this one sounds like one of the common ones that Don Rademacher from Artifakes used to make. Hard to know for sure without looking at images, but as one who has produced shelter halves for years, I've got at least three different stamps produced from images of originals, and when Fred Gaede's book on Federal shelter tents came out, it had some detailed images of these stamps. It is doubtful that the company is still in business and around (Polhemus), but highly probable you've got an early tent from one of the earlier respected vendors of quality repros.
