Original 1863 Enfield musket - Asking $700 obo
There does not appear to be any arsenal repairs made to the stock. The action works beautifully except for 1st cock, the safety mechanism doesn't hold. Also the rifle does not have a rear sling swivel or sling. The barrel is 39" and all of the bands are not only there, but in great condition. Ramrod appears to be period but not Enfield issue.
The initials "R.N." are carved in the stock.
There are no serial numbers on the bottom of the musket. The musket barrel matches the receiver, both numbered 910. The musket barrel and the receiver are aligned, the factory notch on both is noticeable. The musket has several inspectors marks on the bottom of the barrel. They are:
1) J. TURND
2) T. ROURND
3) WC on the barrel.
The musket barrel on the top is stamped with English inspector marks and 25 (the bore - cal 577)
