Default FS: Stiles McDowell Cap, Shirt, Books, Notions

    Gents-

Please find below a list of items I'm offering for sale and their prices. Shipping will be a couple dollars extra, and I'm happy to combine things. I can send photos via email if you'd like. Thanks and regards,

    -Tyler Putman

Red woven check shirt with one left breast pocket and white china buttons. The seams are machine-sewn and all outside sewing and finishing (including buttonholes) is by hand. Used a few times but no rips or tears and only minor staining. Would fit someone in the 38-42" chest range nicely. $50

"McDowell"-style private-purchase federal cap by Mike Stiles, size 7 1/2. This has seen only a bit of use and is a beauty - red leather sweatband, quilted lining, and original staff officer buttons. The chinstrap has some minor cracking and the crown pasteboard has a crease (only evident when it is pressed, otherwise the crown still remains flat and firm). $85

Original green glass beer bottle. Typical of examples excavated in camps. $7

Bone toothbrush. Sutler row type with natural bristles. $2

Second corps "heel plates." These were copied from originals a few years ago by a vendor. Make from sheet steel with holes for pegs and a large cut-out trefoil shape. Never uses. $15 buys the pair

Two of the old Sullivan Press "Dime Novel" reprints: Beadle's Florida and The Hunters. These have some creases from haversack travel. $10 buys the pair

Original 1854 copy of the works of William H. Seward. This original book has lost its cover and most of its binding and on the whole has been around the block. A cool piece for your Republican haversack, though. $5

Reenactor drill manuals: Scott Washburn's Simplified Infantry Tactics and School of the Battalion and a small manual by Don Heitman focusing mostly on skirmishing. These manuals simplify and clarify the maneuvers described in Hardee's and Casey's and have been well used. Along with them I'll throw in a nice painted leather envelope case. $15
