October 6 & 7 - 17th Annual Reenactment and Living History at Laurel Hill
Ararat, Virginia - Bring history to life at the birthplace and boyhood home of Confederate General J.E.B. Stuart. Hosted by the 1st KY Infantry and 51st VA Infantry in association with the J.E.B. Stuart Trust. Saturday's battle will be Little Round Top and Sunday's will be Jackson's Flank Attack. These will be serious battle reenactments. Dawn tactical on Saturday with a candle light tour later that evening. Activities include Saturday night period ball, music, lectures and military demonstrations. Amenities include free firewood, straw and ice. Confederate and Civilian registration 8.00 by August 1, 2007. Federal registration is free with a 300.00 bounty paid to the first Federal battalion that fields 100 men. The first (4) individual Federal companies which field 20 men or more will receive a bounty of 25.00. Artillery bounties will be paid.
