Join the Hawkins' Zouaves

Gents:
On September 17, 1862 the 9th New York Hawkins Zouaves rushed to the outskirts of Sharpsburg, Md. with 373 men and lost over 250. During the attack they routed Drayton's Brigade and overwhelmed 2 guns of the Rowan Artillery, but the sacrafice went unrewarded as A.P. Hill's arriving Confederates routed Union reenforcements. The vailant survivors were ordered off the field as the day ended with only a handful of cartridges between them. That was nearly 150 years ago...

Today I'd like to announce that myself, Kenneth Robison and the Zouave guru himself Shaun Grenan, are raising a unit for Anders' "Maryland, My Maryland" event to portray these hardened fighters. We call upon everyone who wants to portray a zouave unit in the field as authentically as possible to join us.
