Thanks, Bernie, you are correct. I'm afraid I had a brain freeze confusing the two.
We hope the members of the Color Company will have opportunities to burn as much powder as is appropriate for the event.

Since this thread is recruiting for an event, we have moved it to the proper folder. No harm. No foul. Continue on.
Count me in as a powder burner, Bill. Sewing on corporal stripes is just work.

In my research, I have found a good story on the color bearer of the 75th Ohio at McDowell. During the course of the U.S. attack, the Ohioans took shelter behind a rise in the ground. The initial color bearer was shot and the flag tumbled to the ground down the slope that the regiment was sheltered behind. Private Mike Brady, a short, 18 year old Irish boy from Cincinnati left his shelter, ran out in front of the regiment and grabbed the flag. He ran up and down the battle line waving the flag and inspiring the men of the 75th at McDowell for some time before the men pulled him back to the safety behind the rise. As a footnote, he was mortally wounded at Second Manassas and is buried in Alexandria National Cemetery.
Thanks for the information, it's really appreciated. I don't believe a "guiding impression" has been chosen yet. There was another Ohio regiment at McDowell (the 81st) which was portrayed at least once at a previous event.
