Default Hours for Sweeny Museum and NPS self tours?

    Howdy,
Do you know the hours of operation for Dr. Sweeny's museum (now NPS) on the edge of Wilson Creek?
Work has me bogged down so it appears I'll be making an early morning drive on Friday instead of Wednesday morning as had planned. This means my last chance to see this gem will be early on Friday or late afternoon on Sunday after the shooting subsides.
Shades of Marmy's Raid -- looks to be about a seven-hour drive including stops for fuel, then right into drill with the federal forces. If you see a white Bonneville land yacht weaving in traffic, it's just me.

Default RE: Museum hours of operation

    Paul,

The museum should be open from 9AM to 4PM (closed for an hour for lunch, noon to 1PM), seven days a week. It's doubtful, but their hours may be extended for this event. You can give them a call at (417) 732-2662 to find out for sure.

Be safe, and see you there!

Thanks, Kip. I'll try that phone number -- the one I got by Googling is no longer in service. I saw somewhere that the park is open until 6 p.m. and since Sweeny's is part of the NPS I hoped it would be open the whole time this weekend, too.
Guess if it's raining Parrots and zouaves tomorrow like the weather forecast says, I might try to squeeze in a short visit to the museum before joining my pards for noon drill in the rain.
Save some ticks and chiggers for me, fellers, I'll be along shortly.

NPS says museum is open 0900-1600 each day so I'll have a small window tomorrow morning and an even smaller winder after "Bloody Hill" on Sunday to visit the museum. We'll see how it goes.
On a bright note -- NO CHARGE to view the collection for the weekend. Hope lots of folks take advantages.
    Cheers,
    Paul
