Default Photos of the 2011 reenactment at 1st Manassas

    Hi all-
My first reenactment photo shoot. I have four gallerys and if you see a photo of anyone you know pass the word. I am an amateur and if you decide you want to buy one you are just paying for the printing costs. I was impressed with all of the efforts the reenactors put into an event like this and want to say thank you for a great job.

More will be posted over the next few days. There are unprocessed color shots with just some cropping to take out unwanted backgrounds and a gallery of processed shots that reflect the "look" of photographs of the period.

I went to several of the Park Service demonstrations of muscet and canon. Finally got my first "fire" from a canon shot on Sunday.

You got some great shots! I like the "vintage" ones. Thanks for posting them where we all can see them.

In echo of others, thanks for posting these photos, and in a format so easy to view.

You may have been most happy with the shot of the fire out of the cannon tube, but I think your sequence of the cannon smoke ring in Nos. 90-94, on Sunday, July 24, was most impressive.

I think most reenactors try not to pay too much notice of the rings, to show this isn't your first "battle", but every time there is a good one like in your photos you always hear a few muted oohs and aahs, and guys will give an elbow nudge to the man beside him in the line if he is not looking in that direction.

    Thanks for the positive reviews.

I've had so many requests to check for other photos that I may have taken that I didn't include. I took over 1000 each day and usually purge the out-of focus, the blurry, the other stuff, but I realized that these shots have importance to lots of people. So here it goes. The entire catalog is available. The reenactors gave their all so why shouldn't their images be displayed.

Downloads are free and prints are just the service cost. Like Walmart prints. I don't make anything from the prints. I just like shooting photographs. I have ordered some 4x6 and 10x12. The quality is good, shipping cost is low and they arrived in about four days.

    Enjoy

John - Your comment of the canon sequence gave me an idea.
