    Default Confederate Blankets

Besides the Mahone blanket done by Charlie Childs and the Corporal T.V. Brooke blanket done by Chris Daley, have any other Confederate blankets been reproduced?

Wambaugh and White recently finished selling out of a run of a copy of a Gettysburg pickup that I will long regret not buying one of. Wisconsin Veterans Museum did a run based off of a Pea Ridge battlefield pickup; believe Chris Utley is gearing up to redo that item. The Pea Ridge blankets are famously thin. There have been a few attempts at the North Carolina blankets and also the white British import blankets, each with varying degrees of sucess.

    Thank you Lindsey.

Could you please tell me more about the North Carolina blankets. Who attempted to reproduce them and when? What original blanket did they use as their pattern blanket?

I believe County Cloth did a run of NC blankets, but it was many years ago. I think they also did the British import ones. Charlie Childs is, unfortunately, "one and done" on most of these blankies. County Cloth's website doesn't even show any blankets currently.

Which means, if one of these blankies comes up for sale on the forum here, BUY IT!

Bill pretty much summed it up.

Sorry to dredge up a nearly dead thread but I thought it would be appreciated if I pointed out that a number of my Gettysburg blankets are still in stock at the Needle and Thread in Gettysburg. When I was there a week ago they still had a half dozen on hand. These are the last new blankets of mine that I am aware of still being available.

It's my understanding two NC blankets were made years ago. One was made by Charlie Childs. Can someone tell me who made the other NC blanket? Thank you.

When speaking with Tim Sheads last month at his shop (S&S Sutler) , he plans on teaming up with Pat Kline (Family Heirloom Weavers) to do a run of NC blankets . I'm very much looking forward to that . Also on the same note Tim's new Federal blankets from FHW are very , very nice .
