Moderator note: We usually try to avoid extraneous Youtube clips that are not related to reenacting or history, however we'll make an exception for this classic. Too many of the younger set haven't sat down at a 12 inch black and white TV with rabbit ears (pardon the pun) and watched this one...

Lynn, thanks for sharing that. Several parts made me chuckle.
As a born and raised Virginian, you gotta love when ol' Bugs comes marching out of the North and first comes to the Mason-Dixon line.
One of the most distinguished families today in Catlett, Fauquier County, Virginia, traces back to their Union soldier ancestor who was stationed there, fought there, and after the war went back there and bought some fine farmland on the flood plain of Cedar Run, right at the railroad bridge where Mosby wreaked such havoc with the Union supply trains. Today that soldier's descendants are able to find bullets on the farm, perhaps even from great-great grandfather's musket.

I'm still stuck on why he seems to be coming from the dustbowl and going to Alabama by crossing the Mason Dixon line. Does not compute. The dustbowl is out west, and Alabama's several states below the line, and... But it's just a cartoon. But, but...! The map... ! Aargh!
Great cartoon!
