I have recently purchased and Armi-Sport 1842 Springfield. I also purchased a bayonet from another party. The bayonet fits but is a little loose. Does anyone have a thought or experiance on how to correct this problem? Thanks!

Rattlely, wobbly or just not quite right?

I dream of a world where a chicken can cross a road without having its motives called into question.
Original or repro?
Tight you can work with (ream it out a little with a dremel tool) Loose is a little more difficult. You might try lining the inside of the socket with silver solder, then reaming it to fit. Just a thought, no idea if it would work.

You might try tapping on it a mite, on the front and at the rear of the socket, to make it just SLIGHTLY out of round.
