Does anybody know where I can find reproduction issues of Harper's Weekly, or other newspapers/journals dated during the war? I would like to have some for my impression.
Thank you very much.

Are the ones at the gift shops fairly accurate in regards to the paper they are printed on? Also wondered if they were full papers or just sections of the full paper.
No. The quality of the reproduction paper is modern newsprint. They will age and yellow over time far more rapidly than the originals.
It depends. Look closely--many 8-10 page items are complete issues. They tend to be stacked in an open rack with no other packaging at various US NMP bookstores. Great. Get one to read and another to slice up to line boxes with.
Watch out though for 'package sets' offered in the same bookstores and plastic wrapped. They purport to have a number of papers at a price that is a slight discount over the single price. What you get though, is single front pages, not whole issues.

The reproductions we carry in Ragged Soldier (raggedsoldier.com) are repros of the entire issue. The paper is modern but the images are moderately high quality, often allowing you to see the junction between engravers' blocks on some of the larger engravings.
We have tried to list the issues we have but we may be temporarily out of an issue on the list on our website. We also can get additional issues but the ones listed are the ones we stock. Unfortunately, the news of the Battle of First Manassas is sold out.
To find them on the website, go to the menu for "Books, 19th Century Reproductions" and scroll through the list of books which are in alphabetical order.
