    Default Bully 17th Michigan!

    Attention,

We are recruiting good and able bodied men to serve in the 17th Michigan, Company E. Gen'l MacLellan himself called this regiment "The Stonewall Regiment" for their gallant charge and capture of a Confederate Brigade at the Battle of South Mountain.

Join us! We are located in Southeast Michigan, centered in the town of Plymouth, Michigan. The 17th is the oldest Michigan Civil War reenacment unit, founded in 1972. We meet at the Plymouth Historical Museum the 2nd Sunday of every month <Aug-May>. We are a family oriented unit with a Ladies Auxiliary. A few special impressions including President and Mrs. Lincoln.

Feel free to visit our website and find out more about us and our unit. Use the link to find our site:

I have had the pleasure of reenacting with a man from this Company at Wade House in Greenbush Wis. and Perryville Ky. If anyone out there is looking to join a unit from Mich. then this would be one to get into.
Does anyone have a candle and a lucifer so I can write a letter?

As an FYI, at next year's 145th "September Storm" we will be recreating the 17th Michigan's part in the destruction of Drayton's Brigade.

    Thomas,

How has the trend with your recruiting efforts gone since 2006? Are you part of a larger organization? Have your records shown that the recruiting has gone up or down? What do you suppose the reasons are that support the current trend?
