If you don't mind me asking, what did you end up paying for yours? Or did you buy when it was in print?

Huck's an old hand at this. He got his on the first round. Its always wise to get items from the vendor when they have them.
At the time, by the time shipping and all was accounted for, they came in the mail right at $39, and a little less by pre-order.
Since then, we've seen some profiteering by a few who asked, and got large prices.
Some sold for handsome prices with the difference given to preservation. I know I helped scoop up some copies that went that route after it became obvious the sort of market forces that were at work.
Still an invaluable reference work that will not be printed again.

that there wont be a reprint. I was on a hiatus from the hobby when it came out and have only been able to look at one.
it'd be nice to be able to pay for a pdf version.

Not Happening.
And the reasons are too numerous, too sad, and too in dispute to go into here. Its either get the hard copy, original printing, or do without.

I just was able to put my hands on one of these recently and let me tell you, it was worth the money I spent on it. Hands down the best book for researching proper impressions for eastern federal hands down!! I'd say go for it unless this one goes outta sight. I've heard of $80 or so being paid for one. I don't think it was that good, but it is an awesome book and one I'm glad I got my hands on.
Too bad there won't be a reprint, people need this in this day and age, see any "reenactments" (can't call them reenactments with all the crap from incorrect uniforms to obvious women in the ranks) lately? If you have you'll understand why.

Don't tell people you do things "exactly like they did" while standing in front of a wall tent you share with your wife with the four poster bed, cooler, camp stove, and heater etc. Be honest with yourself and the people you are talking to.--Robert Collett, 2010
Lordy I hate it when people post LIVE auctions. It unnecessarily drives the price up EVERY time.
Sigh.

Sorry Bob. That would be a copyright violation. That's a violation of intellectual property rights.
And that's one factor in several of how we got into the mess of there not being a reprint of this wonderful volume.
