Default "Civil War" Field Hospital Tent & Fly

"Civil War" Field Hospital Tent & Fly - $400.00 plus shipping.

I am reducing the amount of gear I haul around for events and am looking to sell my field hospital tent and the hospital fly that goes over the top of it.

The tent is a Panther Primitives 14'w x 14'd x 11'h hospital wall tent, with 45" tall side walls. See page 57 of the current Panther catalog. The tent is about 4 years old, the fly about 2. The interior temperature of the tent is about 10 degrees cooler when the fly is over the top and this is a correct configuration for a field hospital tent.

The tent and fly are each made from 10.38 oz. Sunforger canvas. There are no rips in either. There is no mildew. Both the tent and fly were aired out and dried after each event.

There are grommets at the front and back of the peak for the pegs to secure to the ridgepole & uprights. There are six grommets along the top of each side wall for side poles and canvas loops around the bottom for pegs/pole bottoms. Both front flaps open and there is a double row of ties for closing the tent.

This tent takes at least two men to set up, but four makes it ALOT easier!

I will include complete instructions on the easiest way I found for setting up the tent, as well as measurements for all the lumber. Due to the length of the lumber, I will not ship the lumber. However, if you arrange for local pick up of the tent in the area between Washington, DC and Gettysburg, PA I will include all the lumber.

Other than local pick-up, this sale includes ONLY the tent, fly and steel sleeves for joining the uprights and ridge pole. The sleeves are blackened 1/8 thick steel made for me by a blacksmith. They're not the flimsy/farby galvanized sleeves some online sutlers sell.

Shipping will be actual cost from Maryland via UPS ground.

If I've missed something, please feel free to ask me any questions about the tent & fly.

I think you boys may have set a new record for the completion of a transaction after the posting of a "for sale" post on this forum.

Does the tent come with a crew to help you set the thing up?

LOL! No, but I have found that enticing a group of Privates with hot coffee is usually sufficient.

3 minutes is a pretty quick turn around. Timing is everything. The night before I was looking at the Panther catalog looking to buy a new hospital tent and fly...then 8 hours later....

I wish. I love the fact that I'm one of the few people on sutler row with a CW period tent, but it comes at a cost. They aren't as stable as the marquee tents and yes, it takes a crew of at least three to set it up.
