    Default 150th Perryville

    Battle of Perryville 150th Anniversary
    October 5 – 7, 2012

The 150th Anniversary of Perryville is coming up. Event information and impression guidelines will be forthcoming at www.perryvillebattlefield.org The guidelines listed on the park website are the minimum standards for participation. Park staff has completed hundreds of hours of research on the typical soldier in the Army of Mississippi and the Army of the Ohio and will work with groups interested in tailoring impressions to specific regiments that fought at Perryville – do not hesitate to contact them.

Planning is under way and arrangements have been made for various living history opportunities. There is an opportunity for preservation march for both the Confederate and Union Armies, if you are interested in this please contact me immediately. The routes are being completed now and land agreements are being finalized. Approximately 1,000 acres of land are available for the event.

Perryville has long offered reenactors a quality historical experience. Progressive organizations have been a constant presence at this pristine battlefield for 20 years. There is a strong commitment to enhance this effort by the park and the reenactor coordinators. We invite you to participate and make this the best progressive event in the West for 2012.

Preservation efforts are ongoing at Perryville; the park, the Friends of Perryville and the Civil War Preservation Trust are working to acquire and additional 200 acres that surround the historic H.P. Bottom House as well as additional land on Hayes Mayes Rd. including the Russell House site. 100% of reenactor registration goes towards the purchase of this significant historic property.

    Default Something to think about...

Think about this folks... How many times do we get to play on original ground? Perryville is centrally located (for the most part), there is PLENTY of room (No right wheel around the merry go round... It's not a dog and pony show), and did I mention that we get to use the ORIGINAL battlefields?

Please put Perryville on your calendar for 2012... and keep in mind Perryville in 2002 and 2006 are still being talked about how great they were. Don't miss another!

    All,
The event information is up on www.perryvillebattlefield.org
Registration for Pville 2012 is going live on July 1. This is going to be a great event.
We've worked with local land owners and we have over 1300 acres for the event - that breaks down to nearly 800 acres of park and the rest is private land. We are having a preservation march/tactical on Friday. This will utilize the origional routes into the battlefield by the armies. Going to be very cool. Lots of folks are getting excited about it.
The best things about the event - all reenactor registration fees go dirctly to the preservation and interpreation of the park.
    Thanks,

The last time I did this event was 2002, and it was fantastic. Now that I'm getting back into the hobby, I can hardly wait.

    Default Perryville registration

    All,
Had a great meeting last week with the park folks. All is going well. Registration should go live on July 1 or shortly after that. The registration price is reduced if you get in before January 1, 2012. All the participant standards are up at www.perryvillebattlefield.org
The preservation march/tactical routes are all done and everything as far as the event is laid out. Please give it a look. This is an extremely rare opportunity for those of you who have been at Perryville - the preservation march route comes into the battlefield from private property. This is the first time that this has been done as the majority of this property is in private hands. This may be your only chance to actually come into Perryville on the actual routes used by the armies. If it is not up on the website yet it will be before the week is over. We secured over 1300 acres for the event. All your money goes to preservation at the park, which has grown to nearly 800 acres plus (we are waiting on some good announcements from CWPT.)
I'm very excited about this event - it simply will be on of the best for 2012.
Come help commemorate Perryville's 150th. The men who fought their do not just deserve our rememberance. They earned it.
