Heh. You haven't seen my post about how everything seems to be cut bigger than the number on the size tag. I had a nice black woolen civvie sack coat, marked as size 40 R, that I tried to shrink enough so I didn't swim in it... let's just say the effort didn't quite work as planned, and now I need to get the cotton lining cut down to fit it.

Guys that know me must be enjoying this. This request is not for me, but for a friend who does not have internet service at home. I am a size 3 (modern size 40)--still within period sizes, but not the far left of the bell curve.

My initial request for a small greatcoat by chance produced a nice one (size 40) that I made use of at Winter '64. I have since received several responses, all for coats 40 or larger. I'm bemused; last time I looked, this was the bottom end of the "large" size range. Must be all you guys that are on the far right of the line when the company forms up.
