Veteran Reserve Corps transfer

Another oddball question. When an enlistedman was transfered to the Veterans Reserve Corps for whatever reason prior to end of the War, what sort of documentation would the soldier recieve upon discharge from VRC at wars end? Would his discharge papers have been issued from VRC or his orginal unit? Would he have had some sort of documentation from his orginal state volunteer unit indicating that service?

A soldier would have had to be discharged from his original regiment first to join the VRC. Many of those were medical discharges, thus making them eligible only for the VRC depending upon the injury/infirmity. At war's end their discharge would be from the particular VRC regiment.
