Friends,
Most of you know Julio Zangroniz as an excellent photographer. He has added a lot to our reenacting through the great photos he has taken of many of the events we have attended. Now, I'd like to ask you to extend him a bit of help. His car was damaged last weekend and the repair shop forgot to tighten up an oil filter they installed as part of the repair. 80 miles down the highway his car died. It's a lost cause. The help I'm asking you for is to purchase the cd of photographs he is preparing now of the "Return to Manassas" event. If a lot of us purchase the cd it will go a little way towards helping him replace his vehicle. Thank you for considering this request.

Perhaps some of the lawyers on here could make a phone call convincing the repair people they can either replace Julio's car or spend the next five years in court?

I dunno, sometimes I think if we thought of ourselves as a guild of specialized artisans who support each other in all ways, socially, politically and economically, we might find the paradigm to bury our superficial differences to the point where they are as insignificant as they ought to be.

Whew. Must be the new medication for the knee. It's supposed to be lightweight, but I just took a simple plea for help and boosted it into a new organizational philosophy based on a Middle Ages model.

I'm buying a CD, yup.

Actually, I suggested to Julio that he contact the repair shop and, at a minimum, request a full refund for the repair. But I like your suggestion better

Good luck on getting anything out of the repair shop. My son had his tires rotated at a shop in Massachusetts last year, and the right front wheel went flying off as he was driving down the road (lug nuts not fully-tightened). The good news was the vehicle didn't flip over, nor did the flying wheel hit anyone else.

The bad news was the repair came out of my hide and my insurer. The repair shop simply refused to take phone calls about the matter, and the insurer figured it wasn't worth pursuing them in court.

But I like Julio's work and definitely recommend folks buy the CD.

So you walk in, explain who you are and what happened to your son, and say "So, pretend I'm Tony Soprano. How are you going to handle this?"

It's Joisey, fa cryin out lowd. Lawyers? Insurance? It's criminal negligence, somebody coulda got killed. In your case. Not Julio's, he's just without wheels.

Similar event long ago in Joisey when a garage forgot to put the fill bolt back in my rear. Unfortunately for me, the heavyweight oil lasted long enough I couldn't prove cause and effect. But I made sure everyone I met for a month heard about that garage.
