Seeing the smile's on yours and Mike's faces up on top of Chinn Ridge was a dead giveaway to the success of this event on so many levels....awesome job, and thanks to everybody who either worked so hard on setting the scene AND\OR performing on stage. Court, special thanks for you and your family's hard work\investment\sharing of time, resources, energy, and your property.

Yup. And I think there's more people than ever who would know exactly what you mean after this weekend. The more you put into it yourself, the more you and everyone else got from the weekend.

I had a fine time and so far as I could see, everyone else did also, with a lot of exuberant comments about both the Brawner's Farm fight and the Chinn Ridge fight. Some fellows who hadn't ever been to a situation where you don't just line up and blast away for 20 minutes were very happy with a more realistic situation at more realistic distances. And I've never seen a fight like the Brawner fight where so many people right down to the privates knew the order of regiments and what each did. THAT is dyed-in-the-wool professional reenacting.

It seems like this one really pumped some folks up to hit the 150s at a run. "If not now, when?"

Great event

I think it offered a taste of things to come for the 150ths. It brought back the excitement and proof that events can go as planned. I heard for the first time in a while "cant wait till the next one." "wonder what Anders has planned for 2011" A revival so to speak.

I also want to send out my thanks to all who showed up and all who helped out.

First, thanks to everyone who showed up and put in what they wanted to get out of this event. We can make the best plans on earth but they fall short if the participants dont give it their all. You all did a good job selling it on the field and that's what made those scenarios great.

A huge thanks to 1st brigade staff: Matt Lovejoy, Matt Kraybill, Tom Scoufalos, Josh Sawyer, Brian Brown and John Petty. These guys worked very hard to get the logistics of this thing right. Some of them put in 14+ hours at the parking lot and others spent the whole weekend fixing issues before they became problems. Plus, they looked good and rode hard.

Also, thanks to Nate Abel and Raymond for doing all the work around the property. There would be a lot of thirsty guys without Raymond and Craig.

Todd Harrington did an outstanding job with the sutlers. He deserves a lot of credit for the superb sutler row that we had.

Thanks to Zane Every and the 5th NY guys who pulled through at the last minute to add that extra bit to our Chinn Ridge scenario. Hope to work with you again in the future!

And finally thanks to Court and Chris and everyone else who spent over a year bringing this to life. And the BIGGEST thanks of all to David Abel and the Brittany's Hope charity for the use of this fantastic piece of land. Dave Abel is a real stand up guy who doesn't gain a penny from this event, but puts a lot into the property just for us to enjoy it.

I want to first thank all the re-enactors who made this event possible. Without you showing up, putting in the effort into your impressions and information on 2nd Manassas this re-enactment wouldn't have gone off so well. Also, the team work between grey and blue was incredible. No egos of we are such and such regiment and don't take hits. It was an incredible breath of fresh air and a tremendous help to the scenarios. Next I would like to thank Raymond, Craig, Craig's Partner, and Scott for their tireless effort of refueling water and wood through out the weekend. Such a thankless job that they did just so we get to enjoy ourselves more at the event. Then the brittany's Hope staff and volunteers led by Nate Abel who helped man registration and the spectators on Sunday. Also, they assisted with outside problems through out the weekend from medical emergencies to sign movements. I would like to thank 1st Brigade staff Matt Lovejoy, Matt Kraybill, Tom, Josh, Brian, Eric, and John who maned parking plus kept event logistics running, some of them missed battles because of their jobs, that is a tremendous gift of their time and talents they gave. Finally Mike and Chris helping with organizing and communicating our military needs and scenarios. Because of the re-enactors we impressed some of the private spectators Saturday and into Sunday who decided to add to our donation bringing us up to $20,000 raised for Brittany's Hope. Thank you all very much for your hard work and stay tunned for the big announcement for next year.
