Proceeds from the 3rd Annual Civil War Preservation Ball in the rotunda of the Pennsylvania Capitol Building will be used to repair the 114th Pennsylvania monument.
Pennsylvania State Representative Harry Readshaw announced that all of the profit from this year’s ball will go to repairing the Collis’ Zouaves monument recently vandalized at Gettysburg. Last year the ball raised $4,500 for the “Readshaw’s Raiders” Gettysburg Monument Endowment Fund.
The Ball will be on Saturday, March 25, in the Rotunda of the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building, Harrisburg, Pa. Tickets are $60 per couple, $35 single. Music will be by the 28th Pennsylvania Regimental Brass Band and dance instruction by the Victorian Dance Ensemble (the same combination that conducted the SUV Ball on Remembrance Day 2005). For more information contact email@example.com.
The final free Civil War dance class in preparation for the ball will be offered by the Victorian Dance Ensemble at The National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, Pa., at 2:00M on Sunday, March 12, 2006. This session is specifically designed to prepare guests for the Preservation Ball. Class attendees should wear modern comfortable clothing and shoes, and be prepared to have a good time!
