    Default Kibbler knapsack run

Folks, I will soon be starting a short run of Kibbler knapsacks. I do realize that in this day and age that it is definately a buyers market, and folks are working hard to stretch their dollar. Hence the reason for this post. While I normally do offer a period correct painted bag with all visible hand sewn detail, I am considering compromising if someone would be interested, by using a latex based paint, which would seriously lower the final cost of a knapsack. All other details would be the same as the museum quality bag afore mentioned. If any of these options may be of interest, please feel free to comment on this thread, or contact me at Ejwoods72@aol.com . Thank you all for your consideration,

    Eric Woods

    Eric,

Personally, I would rather see you not compromise on construction methods, but I understand if you must make that choice. Out of curiosity what are the prices of your packs with the period recipes and without? I am possibly in the market within the next several months for one. Also, do you make the british import Isaac and Campbell knapsack by any chance? You can send me a PM if you would rather discuss this off board.

Gents, just to be sure, the compromise is ONLY in the paint recipe. All other details will be the same. I do know a few highly reccomended vendors who only work with latex, and others use period correct methods, as I will continue to do, but this is merely an option to decrease the final cost for folks if they choose. I can make a knapsack any way a customer orders it, top quality, or slightly below. The savings between the two would be around 75.00 This is a great chance to get a bag if you've never had one, or replace a worn one at low prices. Perhaps if someone is just beginning, or any number of reasons. And the answer to the other question is yes, I do make I&C bags, but they are on hold at the moment while I try and locate the brass hardware (at a reasonable price, therefore passing on the savings!!) Thank you for the reply, and hope to talk to folks soon,

    Default time to step down

    Genlemen,

After posting this run, I was contacted by many folks looking for a spot in the run. I have spoken with a few and all available spots are taken at the moment. But, things do change now and then, and spaces open. On a different note, I would like to take this time to state that I am un-officially steping down from making things for a while. With the current state of the economy, taking on a new job, and with higher education looming on the horizon, I cannot devote enough time to make the products folks request in a TIMELY fashion, as was always my practice of good prices and fast turn arounds. I cannot and will not fall into the the long wait times that some folks require, although I do realize that for many this is neccessary practice. Some of the things I make will be available from various sutlers who will advertise it openly. I would like to take this time to thank all of the folks I have had the pleasure of working with over the years, without your interest and support I would have never been able to create some of the items that I have. Also, if I have spoken with you about a project, I will fulfill my obligations as quickly as possible. Thank you all for priviledge of doing business with you, and it has definately been a great ride!! Thank you all for your time,

    Eric Woods
