The reenactor there is not a loser. I've met him several times. He's, shall I say, special but is a valued member of an artillery unit here in Alabama.

Given the conspicuous absence at many events by my fellow reenactors of all degrees of perceived authenticity due to the mere threat of rain in Alabama during the Spring, I hereto shall lay claim to the title "Hardcore Reenactor".
We can't help the public perception of reenacting, all of the TV shows which feature (and ridicule) reenactors have managed to set the precedent there. People are either very interested in history and appreciate what we do or they simply are unable to get their heads past the fact that we're wearing wool uniforms in the middle of summer.Originally Posted by jkobler
