    Default Fabric question

    Hi folks,
I've been out of the hobby for at least 10 years and figure it's about time to let some of my gear go. I'm hoping you can help identify the fabric in my federal sack coat before I post it, and other items, to the classifieds.

Although its harder to tell through an image than actually having cloth in hand, it appears to me to be a higher quality wool flannel and has the tell-tale signs of proper weight, color, and diagonal twill that is found in quality reproductions of Federal fatigue blouses. It looks very close to what used to be offered by Family Heirloom Weavers (Pat Kline) a few years ago.

Thanks, Ross, for your quick reply. I'll get the old measuring tape out to figure out the size of this thing. Anybody have suggestions on what a fair price would be? This is an unlined coat with a pocket inside the left breast.

Oh, just remembered that this coat was made by Tom Arliskas. I believe he's written a book on Civil War uniforms since then.

You should be able to get a decent price for that if Tom was involved. His book "Cadet Gray and Butternut Brown" should be required reading.
