    Default Frock Coat

    Hi all I have a question on the Union Frock coat length. I can not find how many inches above the knee the coat should end. If you can offer any help it would be appreciated. Thanks

    Here's what the Regulations say:

    1482. The uniform coat for all enlisted foot men, shall be a single breasted frock of dark blue cloth, made without plaits, with a skirt extending one-half the distance from the top of the hip to the bend of the knee;

    Theoretically it would not be the same for everyone ... Perhaps that's one reason they were left unhemmed at manufacture, so they could be finished the correct length after issue?
