ma'am,
I am sure the mods had a good reason for shutting down the 800 post thread It probably had something to do with available forum space.
Thanks,
Jurgitem Valetem
If space management is the issue, (rather than the frivolity of the postings,) perhaps "the powers that be" would let the banter continue here in the Whine Cellar if we break it into monthly threads or some such thing. The older posts would regularly drift out of sight, and the "bits and bytes" aspect might be easier to handle. I'm certain that no one wants to create any technical difficulties.Originally Posted by jurgitemvaletem
In any case, on behalf of all the "Singles thread" posters, I'd like to express our gratitude to Mr. Szabo, the Provost, Sgt. Pepper, Mr. Pritchett, and any and all other anonymous moderators and administrators for their patience and forbearance over the past several months. The thread has allowed many of us to meet each other, both online and in person, when we would not otherwise have had that opportunity. Thank you all.

I think it was more due to the sheer number of posts and how difficult it makes the thread to navigate. Frankly, I very surprised that the provost let it get anywhere near the size that it did; normally he closes threads before they even get half that size. I do like the idea of a continuing series of threads where a new one gets started the first of each month to continue the various discussions. Just a suggestion.
Bingo!!!!!!!!!! I'll second that.Originally Posted by tompritchett

I gave up anyway since there were no old, blind, bald, toothless and suffering from liver spots single grannies answering my love lorned PMs.

That's about what I had in mind. If there are no objections from the other authorities, we'd appreciate the chance to see how it works.Originally Posted by tompritchett

I would like to see the threads go in one direction and not branch off like a spider web. If someone wants to answer a specific post then use the 'quote option'.
