    Angry

This is despicable. You'd think they would settle this off the field, but this is inexcusable.

Thankfully, men like this are not in the reenacting majority.

This is totally ridiculous. Really, you would think two grown men could settle this more maturely than would two 5-year-old in a tussle in the schoolyard, but that's clearly not that case.

    Thumbs down

Seriously? Someone knocks off your hat and you respond by shooting them in the face with black powder? Something needs to be done about these two in their local area, and, in my opinion, anything short of denying their registration to an event ever again is short sited and potentialy harmful.

"Nalls allegedly responded by firing his revolver. While the weapon was not loaded with a bullet, the Union commander suffered facial injuries from the revolver's powder blast"

This last bit really doesn't help us either-

"Injuries, accidental or otherwise, are not uncommon during Civil War re-enactments. In 2008, a Confederate re-enactor brought a loaded weapon into a battle being filmed for a documentary and shot and wounded a Union re-enactor."

    Default Banishment

If you can't play nice, maybe you shouldn't get to play at all. I say banish these two jerks from participation for a while to see if they can hug and make up.

    Default I Second the motion!

Reddcorp's motion is passed! *gavel slams* This meeting is adjourned!

    Just Kidding!

But seriously, anybody who disgraces the hobby in such a way is just making it harder for the rest of the mature reenacting masses to continue doing what we do best- reenact.

If they could be court-martialed, they should be.

    Have a good evening, guys,

Last week I volunteered for "WWII Camp". This is a camp run by the Virginia War Museum. It's composed of 48 kids ages 8-12.

After four full days of battle reenactments there wasn't any crying, fighting, tattling, pushing, shoving, arguments, injuries or complaints.

How is that 4 dozen little kids can get a long in reenacting but adults have to fight on the field (and on the internet)?

Frankly, I had way more fun with these kids than any reenactment I've EVER been to. The kids want to learn drill, they know they don't know everything, they follow the scenarios AND they like to take hits.

we are portraying soldiers trying to kill each other, if a little aggression spills over now and then its not unhealthy. were men after all. the need to go to court is a bit much though.

What fools! I think if this is how they handle issues, then neither men should be allowed to command troops on the field at any event period. Not only to you make yourself look bad, you make your unit look bad, that particular event look bad, and you make all of us who do this look bad.
