Here's a couple of links to a success story in my home town of Jacksonville. A combined effort of the City of Jacksonville and members of my unit were successful in saving this gem of a site where earthworks still exist and are scheduled to be restored as well as a circa 189X homestead. I was very pleased to be there for the grand opening and my son's Venture Scout unit has "adopted" this as one of the places they plan on doing many conservation projects. Eventually it will be home to the Florida Civil War Museum.
