Default Maine Confederates - 29th Georgia Infantry Regiment

The 29th Georgia Infantry Regiment is located in Maine and is a Confederate Civil War reenacting group based on the unit that fought with the Army of Tennessee during the Civil War. We are a non-profit organization that specializes in reenactments, living history encampments, educational presentations, parades, and graveside memorials (There 6 known Confederate soldiers buried here) throughout Maine as well as other states. We are also a member unit of the Liberty Greys, 6th Regiment, 1st Division, Army of Northern Virginia - “Any fate but Submission!” Our headquarters is in Winterport, but our members hail from throughout the Central, Coastal, Northern and Southern parts of the state.

The modern-day 29th Georgia was originally formed in 1989 and, we are looking for people to join our group! While we are primarily an infantry unit, we added cannons to our group during the 2006 season to enable artillery portrayals as well, honoring the artillery history of Companies A and G of the regiment that were detached and served on coastal fortifications around Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC during the war. We also have an active Civilian membership, so we can offer an enjoyable experience for different tastes as well as your whole family. Please contact us; we would love to hear from you.
