    Default Caneen Halves

    I have just recently modified a canteen hat was damaged, all the brackets for the strap was broken off. I have broken he weld of the canteen, and now what can I do to clean the inside and to make sure i is fully clean and sanitized so I can have it ready to use next year?

    I'm not sure just why you're asking because there's nothing special you need to do to clean it. You've been drinking out of it and haven't got sick, right?

    So, just clean it. If there's some rust, you could use a Brillo pad on it with some hot water and dish soap. Or, to further sterilize it, stick it on the stove top for a while. It ain't going to be that sterile in the field anyway.

    When I get home from an event, I take my mess gear and wash them just like any other eating equipment.
