    Harry, et all,

things are looking good and I am looking forward to a great weekend with you all who are planning on coming. Right now we are in need of Confederate guards after we had several that had to back out. Other than that we are good to go from the way things are looking. I plan on being up at the event site at least twice this week to do a few last minute chores and make the final arrangements for the wood, straw and emergancy personnel for the tacticals.

For all those interested, please remember that July 19th is the cut off date for rations, so if you would like to recieve the

    2 lbs pork,
    1 lb rice,
    potatoes
    onion
    corn
    coffee
    sugar
    candle

ration please remember to get your $7 fee into

by the 19th. This ration program is available to all participants, federal prisoners, confederate guards and civilians. I understand that this is quite a bit more than what the average prisoner would have recieved while in incarceration at the prison, however the organizers have no plans to see anyone starve themselves for the sake of history, unless ofcourse that is something that appeals to you, in which case, all the more power to you.

I plan to be there mid morning on the friday of the event, around 9 a.m. so folks are welcome to start coming in any time there after. Registration will be open at noon. There will be signs to diect you to parking and registration, from which point you will be directed to the camp site.

If anyone has any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me at

    pat30ovi@yahoo.com

    or

740-281-9506 (my cell which I will have until the early saturday morning of the event)

I'm not sure about how many 5th Texas boys we will have, but we do the Hastings Michigan event (Medich) the weekend before so I'll talk it up to them there.

I know of six solid committments at this time, certainly there will be more than that from us.

We Federals need a goodly number of Confederate guards to keep us in check. You never know if we'll tunnel out or sneak through in the dead pile...

I hope to be there Saturday at least, probably as a photographer, but I did tell Patrick I could do military if Confederates are really needed. If you see me stop by ansay hello, always interested in meeting people from the board and putting face with the name. If you want a picture I'll do them free, sorry digital only, but I can make them pretty close looking.
