    Default Weapons Inspection:

I was in gun case today and noticed that all my weapons, even the ones just cleaned from Manassas, had rust spots on them. The heat had dried the oil causing them to start to rust. Might wanna check yours.

It may also be worse because of the high humidty. I lost power after Isabel for 10 days. Once things got back to normal I noticed my guns had a coat of light rust from lack of AC and humidty control for that period. I now use a synthetic oil for rust protection during storage. The molecules are smaller and get into the pores of the metal better than petroleum based oil.

Default synthetic miltec and no steel wool

use synthetic oil like miltec which will not attract dust or see rust. also no metal abrasives like steel wool. It impregnates tiny particles into the barrel that cause rust.

Im pretty sure Ive seen small dehumidifiers in the Cabelas catalog that go into gun cases. May be something to look into.
