Well-used cavalry shell jacket, but still has lots of life left. I would say it’s a 36. Length down the back from the top of the collar is 25.” Great for a late war impression as it appears to have spent a few years campaigning. Buttons are Waterbury marked, although I do not believe them to be wartime period. I am guessing this is also Quartermaster Shop by the button backmark, but there is no maker indicated inside. No liner in the jacket. $40.00
Confederate grey frock coat size 46-48. I am not sure of the maker or the accuracy of this coat. It may have been a prop or costume coat, but there are no markings on the inside that I have found. Material is a soft grey and may be a wool/cotton blend or some other fabric. The lining is appears to be satin and is partially hand sewn into the coat. All buttons are Waterbury marked on the back. Machine sewn buttonholes. The collar originally had rank insignia sewn onto it, but they have been removed and replaced with pin back cavalry insignia. Overall it’s a nice coat, just would not be an accurate portrayal. Could be fine for a ball, costume, or use where you would not want to ruin your nice coat. Measurements: 35” from the bottom of collar to the bottom of coat along back seam. 32.5 from bottom of collar down the sleeve. $55.00 obo
Cavalry officers slouch hat. Complete with metal cavalry insignia and officers hat cord. Leather sweatband. I believe it’s a 7 3/8 – 7 ½ measuring front to rear. It has a slight odor to it that I mention for accuracy. It may be cigarette smoke. It’s faint, but I do notice it. A few days in the field should “freshen” it up. $30.00
White cotton liners or drawers for the trousers. Measures about 30” in the waist. Single button on the waist, the crotch area is open, and the legs enclosed. I have not seen them like this before, but would be nice under the wool. The cuffs are hemmed with several pleats. $5.00
Black cloth belt (sash), I believe he used as a sword belt. Just plain black cloth hemmed with a slight design on the ends. About 9 feet long. $3.00
