    Default Wanted: Varied Equipment

Ok... I am looking for a few things.
A Musician's Belt Buckle or oval US belt buckle /w belt.
    Tarred Haversack
    Dark Blue Canteen (preferably new)
Buttons that you see on the sides of kepi hats that have an eagle on them.
And just a little perk, maybe an insignia that goes on your hat that is a lyre. (its the musician's insignia in the army)

Thats all I need right now.

    Default belts

    Hello,

Just be aware that "Musicians Belts" (the one with the lyre on it like this: http://hanoverbrass.com/images/011700/G22Musician.jpg ) didn't come around until the 1890s.

The "issue" belt for a musician was an NCO belt with the applied silver wreath (like this: http://www.ejtmercantile.com/i//1851Plate.JPG )

However, photographs do show musicians also wearing the oval US enlisted man's plate and belt.

The Regimental Quartermaster (at https://www.regtqm.com ) does carry the small brass lyre you're looking for. If you can't find it on their website, give them a call as I'm almost positive I've seen it in their store in Gettysburg.

When I look at the pictures the one I meant when I said "musician's belt" was the NCO.
Thanks for the pics and links

I was looking at those belts and its seems that they are always listed as "sword belt" buckles. Do you have to use a sword to use them? I don't want to spend the money to buy the musician's sword... And please explain how they work... The only belt types I have use have been the oval ones that have the prongs in the back.

That belt is just an NCO belt that work as a two piece belt. You do not need a sword. You would need frog attachment for the sword if you wanted one later on.

would the NCO Buckle work with a 2 prong belt? does it require a special belt?
