    Default Horizontal Collar Stripes

    Hello All,

(Previously posted on New Users forum.)
I recently purchased a daguerreotype that came from an estate in Marshallville, Georgia and the subject is wearing what appears to be a 9-button Columbus-Depot style jacket but could be a Richmond 3rd issue (according to someone more knowledgeable in these matters than myself). I could not get an image to upload because of the size of the file but am interested to know about two horizontal stripes that appear to go around the entire collar. The stripes have been tinted onto the picture along with gold for the buttons and rosy cheeks. Could this be an artillery or mounted services markings? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to research the subject.
