    Default Maybe I am DUMB?????

    I don't understand! Please explain!
Not only is this NOT items for sale or trade, but it is a link to a site that does not welcome most the items that ARE sold here. Correct me if I am wrong, but this seems to be a lottery were the money collected will be donated in the name of this other site. This is like MADD asking for an extra Tax on all beer served in Bars so that they can give the money to the local police to make more DUI arrests! I mean the end result is good, but its how you get there that bothers me.
If I am the only one that has a problem with this let me know, I'll shut up! But I do have alot of WW2 German gear to sell,(just for those CW re-enactors that also do WW2), and I am sure there are some re-enactors from all the other time frames that would like to post Event Notices for thier Battles, maybe even do some recruiting if that is OK!

Why not see if this group will donate two books, list one here and the other "there". See who can bring in the most cash for thier cause. Then we all can vote for the charity that we feel needs it the most. I would really like to have a copy of this information, but I would not get involved in this!

I fully agree with you. It's OK if the favorite few on the other side post what they want, but JUST the favorite few. You get run off the board for asking ACW related questions, but some get to post whatever. Off-line I have asked why some posts go on and on and the peons get run off. The answer was, if you don't like it, don't come here. No wonder that they run off the fresh fish, and even seaoned reenactors. You have to have a PHD in ACW to post there, according to them.

    End of rant.

I really don't understand what the issue is . The money goes to preservation and you might get a book which many are looking for. The MADD analogy was a bit much too.

    Paul,

Nobody is twisting your arm to make you enter into the raffle. Get off the us v. them kick. It was simply an FYI for people "here" who might want to enter into a raffle. As I recall several people on this sight lately have actually been looking for this very item...and here is a chance to perhaps get an out of print book for $5 and pitch in for a good cause which ALL reenactors should support.

go back to bed and try getting up on the other side,

Are you serious? The ACPP is one of the most worthy causes out there. Dusty Chapman and all who've contributed have brought about some incredible good and get alot of bang for the buck with the donations. This isn't about the Authentic-Campaigner or axes to grind with the campaign community, this is about preservation. Mr. Chapman posted on here as a service to those who might not know about the project or hadn't seen it on the AC.

Yeah really, c'mon! You are saying there is something wrong in raising money for preservation?!? You may need to rethink your hobby choice.

    Talking

Being a rather new guy, I'll say this about the AC forum. All I had to do is follow the "rules" set up by the forum owners, I read the rules when I signed on, I read the FAQ's, as I was instructed and have never had to ask any question because I use the "Search" feature first. The AC forum is a wealth of well researched information.
