    Default Crescent City Sutlers?

    Hello all,

I have just received some $$$ for Christmas this year and wanted to spend it on a new shell jacket that I've had my eye on for a while at Crescent City Sutlers. Before I purchase, I'd like to know if they're good people or not. Are their products quality-made? I'm just a bit suspicious because some of their prices seem just a bit too good to be true.

I wish you all the best health in the coming new year,

    Default Another Option

There's another thread in this forum about Cedar Creek. I'll say that I bought a brown plaid sack suit (unlined) -- trousers, coat, vest, and shirt -- for about $250 from Cedar Creek in 2002. I had to change the buttons out on the coat, but it's stood up well to scrutiny by some authentics I respect. I don't know what Cedar Creek's offerings are now, or what their prices are. And I understand that they're only doing mail order now?

A reminder to all - the Provost has been very explicit several times that we can not allow negative posts or threads about sutlers because of the potential of legal retalliation against the forum itself. If you want to receive or send PMs about a sutler, that is one thing but the conversation can not be public. Please respect these rules and remember the old classic line from Disney - "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." In cases such as this, even silence can speak volumes.
