The Historical Clothiers Web site at http://www.njsekela.com/ is being updated. There's a list of items with background information there now, and pics and more information will be added. Go take a look, there's bound to be something you can use! Add it to your Favorites folder!
Here's what's going on: We have reenactors in the field to represent Nick and Historic Clothiers, to talk to other reenactors and help them with whatever they need. I live near Baltimore and I'm the rep for Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. I'm available most days (except Saturdays for now) to come out and talk about what you want, take measurements, answer questions, etc., either one-on-one or at a unit meeting or event. You can contact me at any one of these addresses:
GNLaFrance (at) hotmail.com (best one for now)
Frenchie (at) njsekela.com
TaurusM605 (at) verizon.net
We've been getting e-mails from people who are glad to see us taking a pro-active lead on this. Here's a quote from one:
"While it has been quite some time since we last spoke (years), I have continued to seek out your products when looking to upgrade my impressions. My reasons are simple. I have developed firm confidence and trust in your historical expertise as it applies to the recreations you produce. You do for me what I cannot do for myself. I appreciate and thank you for that... "
I'm excited about this for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the opportunity to learn about period clothing and accessories. Just talking with Nick about what he knows is an education in itself, the man is a walking encyclopedia.
So go look at the Web site and give me a shout!
