Default Another shameless display of gasconade....

Another shameless display of gasconade and unit self promotion.
We of the Sixth New York Independent Battery have made a donation of $500 to the CWPT. It will be matched at $6 for every $1 donated which means Brandy Station will get $3500.
Tooting our horns and proud of it.

    Kudos!

Good on your unit! And way to make use of a 'force multiplier' like that!

    Default $500 to Graffiti House

The SC Palmetto Battalion donated $500 to the Graffiti House at Brandy Station and $1,000 to the Florence Stockade (built for Andersonville prisoners) and $2,000 to the SC Relic Room to help preserve one of the 7th SC Flags and a Catawba Ranger Flag (4th SC Cavalry). We voted on the donations last week.

Default I tip my hat to you!!

As far as I'm concerned the real reenactors hang out on this page. It's one thing to talk about preservation and another thing to do something about it. Three cheers for us!

    Default CWPT and donations

What [a] great thread. It's refreshing to hear what people are doing to support preservation. Lets' hear some more.

In 2008 the ONV and its friends and the Southern Guard donated $400 to Antietam and $200 to the CWPT.

In the ONV's name $450 was donated to support the Atlanta History Center's "The Wray Collection."

Personally, $800 was donated to the CWPT to support the Bentonville preservation effort.

Preservation is more valuable than another forage cap or Daley fatigue blouse to me.

Definitely blowing my own horn in the hopes of hearing more and getting more to donate,

Either last year or the year before, the 14th OVI/4th Arkansas out of the Bowling Green/Toledo, Ohio area hit the $30,00.00 mark in preservation money donated by the unit over its history.

This year they raised in excess of $1,200.00 with a single pie auction, beating out our record.

They're a part of the Army of the Ohio. Not my unit, but their accomplishment is worthy of praise by all.
