1858 New Model Army .44 caliber revolver

I bought this revolver a few years ago and it's never been fired. It's the 1858 new model army .44 caliber steel frame, blued finish with walnut grips. Also, I have the holster for it. Curious as to the selling value if I should put it up for sale?....or what would anyone offer to buy?

Well, as you know, it's worth what someone will pay for it. The short answer is to get on Auction Arms, Gunbroker and other auction sites, and see what people are getting for similar revolvers.

Personally I'd put it up here, because it seems someone's always looking for a good cap 'n' ball gun and you avoid paying a fee to advertise it.

Once you have an idea of what you can get, decide on the minimum amount you'll take for it. Write up a clear description of its good points, honestly list its faults, and put it up on an auction site or on forums like this one. Say how you want to be paid and if you have a return policy. Take good, clear pics, run them through a photo editor to brighten them up (nothing ticks off shoppers like dark, muddy pics, unless it's no pics at all) and offer to e-mail more if asked. Say how much for shipping, etc. I normally include this in the price, and use USPS Priority Mail, insurance and delivery confirmation just to keep everyone safe and happy.

Include this or words to this effect: "No shipment to New Jersey, Massachusetts, California, or other places run by socialist nanny-state governments. Offering to buy implies you can legally own this item. It's up to you to know your local laws."
