Park Film Wins Emmy
Fort Donelson: A Place for Heroes won an Emmy in the children's programming category at the 22nd annual Mid-South Regional Awards. The film was produced in partnership with the Tennessee Renaissance Center, Civil War historians Dr. Bobby Lovett, Tennessee State University, and Dr. Carole Bucy, Volunteer State Community College, and National Park Service staff from Fort Donelson National Battlefield (TN, KY). The Jackson Foundation and the Tennessee Renaissance Center donated over $40,000 in in-kind support to help produce the film, which is provided free-of-charge to schools across the nation. http://www.nps.gov/fodo/
