Any news on the numbers so far?
I remember that night at Piney Woods well. The bodies being loaded into the ox cart was really something. Really embraced the suck at that event.
Welcome to the hobby. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions.
One problem with hobs is that they work their way through the soles if you do alot of walking on hard surfaces.
Kathy Bradford's sleeping caps are awesome!
One thing that should be pointed out though, is that most "sutler row" clothing is made with what amounts to blanket weight wool. On a 90 degree day, it's not only uncomfortable, but dangerous.
Many of us, though we don't like to admit it, started at C&C Sutlery. We have long ago moved on.
Best impression is no hat brass.
I don't use mine much, but when you need it, you need it. Right now, the Chris Sullivan option would be best. Chris Daley makes a good overcoat, but will be difficult to obtain.
Tim Bender for hats. The standard for the progressive impression.
I second Charles Boatworks. All kinds of great wooden items.
Wambaugh and White cant be beat. All made to order.
FCS is good for firearms, gun parts, and a few odds and ends. As far as anything else, forget it.
Any plastic fouling? Thinking of getting a few for my Henry.
They are very happy wounded/dead guys. ;)
I'm usually pretty rank after a few days in the hot sun.
The Sunday morning cornfield battle was one of the best I have experienced ever.
My thanks!
Well, it looks like the Michigan unit that I'm loosely affiliated with has decided to attend the GAC event. Looks I'll be looking for a reasonably authentic unit to fall in with for the BGA one.
It would be interesting to see some one attempt to make and wear the crude cowhide wrap footwear that was utilized by many southern soldiers. My feet are a tad old to attempt it.
For my first sack coat, I would go with an unlined version from a quality vendor. The lined version is pretty hot in the summer.
Amen brother.
You can also put in a little StarSan to keep the water fresh and kill anything bad.
Like the man said, keep it full of water all the time.
Your too kind Craig.
I have a size 46 mike Anderson overcoat. Best you can get. New condition. $400.00. Pics on request.
