I agree with doughboy. That name sounds too much like a cheap pornsite.
I had been wondering about those and the "correctness" for some time myself. After reading these posts and the high marks it has gotten from the historians here that I have come to respect and...

You can't zoom in on any detail but it does show pretty much the full painting.
That's what I was thinking as well. A good repro Austrian would be hard to pass up. Finding an original in good working condition is getting to be next to impossible from what I am finding.
Within the next 6 months to a year I plan on buying another musket. I already own a Euroarms 1853 Enfield that has served me well. I generally reenact in the Mississippi,Tennessee,Alabama area. Any...
Bill, Yall did have the best seats in the house as far as entertainment goes. I was unfortunate to get stuck there with my gear trailer in "Artillery Corner" but did meet a couple of Confederates...
Thanks for the reply Mr Tackitt.
The video clip I had was done correctly per the Ellsworth instructions though I do not remember what unit did the demonstration. It was very well done and broke down...
One of the civilian folks I am friends with said he was almost skewered by one of the soldiers with bayonets fixed when the soldier tripped over a tree root while heading to the battlefield. Fixed...
We were on the receiving end of that barrage. It was INCREDIBLE!!! I thought our whole line was going to break in run all the way back to Corinth. We were greatly outnumbered and had no chance. Many...
I am looking for a video clip of how to stack arms using the "Kentucky Swing" method to use in training some new recruits. I tried doing a youtube search and a forum search on here but came up...
I would like to thank the nice lady resident of the Town of Purdy who was kind enough to offer my 1st Sgt and me a cup of lemonade after Saturday's afternoon battle when we wandered through headed...
Very accurate AAR. Some things could not be helped of course such as the weather. I was surprised though how many reenactors forgot "reenactor rule"#37- "no matter how big or small the event always...
General Crowder,
I want to thank you,Mark ,and everyone else behind the scenes for all of your hard work and dedication in putting this event together. I cannot imagine the countless hours spent on...
Thanks to all that have responded. A musket deal has been made and another soldier will be properly equipped to take the field of battle. Moderators can close this thread.
I received a copy of our Battalion's orders last night. Saturday is going to be EPIC! We are assigned to Hamby's Division,1st Brigade,Jeff Davis Battalion and will be camped on the east side of...
I ordered 10lbs from Powder Inc yesterday. Just got my UPS tracking info with an eta of Thursday. As Mrs. Lawson stated, Jack's Powder keg will be at BGA Shiloh with powder,pre-rolled cartridges and...

I am posting this for a friend in my unit. He is trying to get started in the hobby and is looking for a decent used 3 band musket on a budget. PM me if anyone has anything available.
Mike,Which side are you wanting to fall in with Federal or Confederate? If you are going Confederate I would like to extend an invitation to fall in with us,the Ala-Sippi Rifles.
Thanks Robert. Hope to see you there!
The Ala-Sippi Rifles started out as two seperate reenactor units-15th Mississippi Co.K and the 25th Alabama Co.E. We would end up at the same events with not...
I look forward to the chance to share the field of battle with you as well!
Don't see that one happening anytime soon!
Amen and amen!
You should get about 100 rounds out of a pound of powder @ 70 grains per cartridge. If you cut back to 60 grains per cartridge you should get about 120-130 rounds.
