November 10, 2012 Michigan Civil War Sesquicentennial (Reenactor) Conference
We wish to remind people of the upcoming November 10, 2012 annual Michigan Civil War Sesquicentennial (Reenactor) Conference. It will be held at the Michigan Historical Center, 702 West Kalamazoo, Lansing, Michigan from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
As with the previous annual conferences, the purpose of the November 10, 2012 meeting is to help promote Michigan CW events and CW events of significance to Michigan. Individuals, organizations, and communities sponsoring and/or hosting reenactments, living histories, programs, presentations, and/or commemorations are encouraged to bring their fliers and other promotional items about their 2013 event to the conference. The conference results in the publication of a very widely distributed web-based calendar of events for the state of Michigan (http://www.micw150.us). For each of the past two years, over 160 Civil War Sesquicentennial events were promoted. The conference and subsequence calendar have proven to be effective tools in helping to avoid event date conflicts and in bringing in additional participants and public to the events. The event is again being sponsored and hosted by the Michigan Civil War Sesquicentennial History Partners, Michigan Civil War Historical Committee, Michigan Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion, Michigan Department of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Friends of Michigan History, Inc., Michigan Historical Center, Historic Fort Wayne Coalition, and History Remembered, Inc. Refreshments will be served. Contacts are Keith Harrison at email@example.com, Bruce Butgereit at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Tom Berlucchi at email@example.com
