Hello all,

I was wondering if any of you had some close up pictures of button holes from Civil War issue uniforms. I have been hunting around the web for good close up pictures but they are few and far between, and on the other hand living out in Utah does not make it easy to look at originals up close. Any sort of clothing, Federal or Confederate is fine, I just want some photos of originals to see differing quality from varous articles. You can PM me or Reach me by email at capink@msn.com

Thank You!

The Coleman jacket on this page has been conserved and I am not sure what is conservation and what is original. The button holes may be original while the topstitching looks recent. It also may not be a close enough view for what you are looking for.

Chase,
E-mail me at thexknapsack@yahoo.com and I can send you a copy of the Co. Wag (the Mudsill newsletter) about buttonholes via snail male.

Chase, my friend, let's schedule a visit to SELL Antiques on State Street in Salt Lake City. I will have the gentleman take us into the vault and you can look at original garments as close as you want. Pat Brown used to frequent that place before he disappeared.
